Various media outlets were recently given a "sneak peek" of an area of commercial property in the UAE, where a sporting facility has been built.
Set for official launch in 2010, the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club faces the ocean and sits on Saadiyat Island, which is about 500 metres offshore from Abu Dhabi city.
Ahmed Hussein is chief operating officer of the group leading the project - the Tourism Development & Investment Company.
He said the club is entering its final stage of completion and, when finished, will stand as an important landmark on Abu Dhabi, as well as making Saadiyat Island a "multi-faceted destination".
A soft opening is scheduled for December 20th 2009 and course designer Gary Player took the media team around the course for a preview.
"We've blended together the breathtaking natural elements of Saadiyat Island with captivating design statements to create a matchless playing experience at the heart of one of the world's most rapidly evolving golf destinations," he explained.
Earlier this year, the island was given the title of the Middle East's Leading Development Project at the World Travel Awards 2009.
