A new Halal initiative is likely to interest anyone with property in the UAE.

Halal Expo 2009 will take place at the Al Jawhara Hall, Madinat Jumeirah Hotel in Dubai.

Nafees Ahmed, project manager of Orange Fairs & Events, which is responsible for organising the exhibition, commented on the products' growth.

He said: "The Halal industry has become a strong stable market with the number of Halal consumers worldwide reaching 1.8 billion and annual sales hitting $580 billion."

Mr Ahmed added that the Middle East has the most prominent representation of Muslims, which makes the event ideal for the location and said that Malaysian officials from the occasion perceived the expo as an opportunity to generate interest about the foodstuffs for both the Muslim and non-Muslim communities.

The Malaysian government has set targets to expand the Halal market this year by 25 per cent.

The event will last for three days between November 10th and 12th.

Orange Fairs & Events claims to be responsible for the promotion of more than 100 exhibitions each year.
