Individuals interested in making a good return on Dubai property have been urged to invest in property with golf course views.
Local newspaper the National reported that Dubai property for sale which is near golf courses has generally outperformed other sectors as individuals are willing to pay a premium for these premises.
"People are still making good premiums on properties that have golf course views, despite the fact that values have fallen," David Ward, a lawyer for an information technology company in Dubai, told the publication.
Mr Ward purchased a three-bedroom property just two minutes' walk from the Whispering Pines section of Jumeirah Golf Estates in 2007 and, despite the economic downturn, feels his investment has performed well.
The Dubai Sports Council recently announced it has joined forces with the Dubai World Championship in order to boost the emirate's position as a premiere golf destination.
It is hoped that continued interest in the sport will help to boost tourism to the emirate.
