Tourism in Dubai may be boosted thanks to a new agreement, which may be good news for those with property for sale in Dubai.

According to the Saudi Gazette, the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing has signed an accord with the Beijing Tourism Administration (BTA).

The agreement will see the organisations draw from each other's expertise in order to improve their respective tourism operations.

Entitled the Memorandum of Tourism and Cooperation, one of its focuses will be aimed at developing and promoting Dubai as a holiday destination abroad, including China.

BTA director general Zhang Huiguang noted the "spectacular" growth of the emirate and the high standards employed by the holidays sector.

She also commented on the rise in Chinese visitors – a result of enhanced air links between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Dubai was described as a top vacation destination by Wanderlust editor Dan Linstead recently.

He noted a surge in popularity of the emirate, noting a huge boost in tourism over the past five to seven years.
