The festival featured at this year's World Travel Market 2008 earlier this month and will feature a range of family orientated entertainment and shopping events.
Laila Suhail, chief executive officer of the Dubai Shopping Festival Office, expects next year's event to be popular.
She said: "Our involvement with one of the leading exhibitions that attracted over 48,000 participants last year signifies our desire to align ourselves with the best industry resources and work towards attracting a higher number of visitors to experience one of the finest events in the world today."
As part of the festival, organisers have also arranged for a Guinness World Records Pavilion to be constructed, in which visitors can take part in various world record attempts.
The tent will be located in the Global Village and will feature more than 14 different categories of events.
