One thing is for certain, you will never struggle to find something to keep you entertained in Dubai. The emirate is always welcoming world-class musical acts, sporting events and stage performers, and some of the biggest stars on the planet are lining up shows in 2013.Fans of stand-up comedy are in for a treat later this year, when British funnyman Michael McIntyre takes to the stage at the Sheikh Rashid Hall - which is part of the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre.Organised by Done Events and Off The Kerb Productions, the show will take place on June 8th and tickets are likely to be in high demand.Having been a regular at the Edinburgh Festival, McIntyre got his first big break in the industry when he was invited to take part in the Royal Variety Performance in 2006. He has since gone on to become one of the UK's most popular comics and his debut DVD - Live and Laughing - was the fastest-selling stand-up recording of all time. His second release - Hello Wembley - eclipsed this, after 1.4 million people purchased it in 2009. McIntyre has amassed a huge global fanbase and has won numerous awards for his hilarious and innovative live shows.Chief operating officer at Done Events Thomas Ovesen is looking forward to seeing the star in action in the UAE."It is with great pleasure we now present Michael McIntyre to his many Middle East fans and by putting on his June show in the biggest indoor venue available shows how big comedy has become in our market," he remarked.Mr Ovesen added that lots of people in the Gulf have been watching McIntyre on the popular Live at the Apollo programme and his books and DVDs have been selling incredibly well across the Middle East. This is yet another example of Dubai's ability to attract the most popular performers in the world and it is always worth checking the city's entertainment listings to see which major stars are going to show up in the emirate next.
