Bollywood star said to be keen on Dubai properties

Bollywood star Salman Khan is supposedly interested in purchasing a property in Dubai, according to his brother.Speaking to Emirates 24/7, Sohail Khan suggested that he and Salman have already been scouring the market for a suitable second home in the city.Most movie stars lead a nomadic lifestyle, as they are forced to travel all over the world to shoot new features.It therefore makes sense for them to purchase properties in different countries, especially in places where they think they will be based for a prolonged period.The Khan brothers have taken a shine to Dubai and Sohail is currently in the emirate to shoot his latest film Mental."We are looking, in fact we have been looking for some time, it's just that this whole year we have been tied up and yeah we would love to buy a pad in Dubai, it's anyway just two and half hours from Mumbai," he told the news provider.Sohail added that the UAE is a "beautiful, safe country to live in" and he was particularly impressed with the food and friendly locals.He also praised the emirate for its plethora of wonderful building developments, which means investors are spoilt for choice.During a press conference last December, Salman confirmed that he would relish the prospect of staying in Dubai on a more permanent basis."To put it bluntly, if I wasn't living in Mumbai for work, then I would surely be living in Dubai," he was quoted as saying.Of course, the Bollywood stars are not the only celebrities to have fallen in love with Dubai.The emirate is renowned for being a playground for the rich and famous and global megastars like David Beckham and Brad Pitt have shown an interest in real estate in more exclusive parts of the city in the past.Mohammad Zaal - chief executive officer at upscale new development Al Barari - recently told Gulf News that Dubai offers property investment opportunities that other parts of the world simply cannot match.Click here for your free property investment guide
