Dubai 'will continue to push ahead with mega-projects'

Any suggestions that Dubai's building developers are set to take their foot off the gas have been vehemently denied by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.With so many world-class skyscrapers and residential complexes already dominating the emirate's skyline, you would think that construction firms were due a well-earned break - but not on the prime minister of the UAE's watch.In a question and answer session held yesterday (February 11th), His Highness insisted that Dubai will "carry on" launching record-breaking mega-projects in the coming years.Although the city was one of the worst affected places during the global economic downturn of 2008, it has recovered well and more innovative building projects are now in the pipeline.More and more people snapped up property investments in Dubai in 2012 and Mr Al Maktoum clearly feels that the emirate is gathering momentum."We have to carry on … Life is full of challenges. Risk will not disrupt our plans. If we do not accept risk, we will not accomplish.
