Dubai 'will continue to push ahead with mega-projects'

Any suggestions that Dubai's building developers are set to take their foot off the gas have been vehemently denied by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. With so many world-class skyscrapers and residential complexes already dominating the emirate's skyline, you would think that construction firms were due a well-earned break - but not on the prime minister of the UAE's watch. In a question and answer session held yesterday (February 11th), His Highness insisted that Dubai will "carry on" launching record-breaking mega-projects in the coming years.Although the city was one of the worst affected places during the global economic downturn of 2008, it has recovered well and more innovative building projects are now in the pipeline.More and more people snapped up property investments in Dubai in 2012 and Mr Al Maktoum clearly feels that the emirate is gathering momentum."We have to carry on … Life is full of challenges. Risk will not disrupt our plans. If we do not accept risk, we will not accomplish. We must embrace positivity, determination and the will to achieve," he remarked. The leader of Dubai is directly behind what promises to be one of the most intriguing developments in the city's history.Mohammed Bin Rashid City - set up in collaboration with Universal Studios - will feature a plethora of world-class facilities, including 100 hotels, a thriving business environment and the largest mall in the world. The fact that Dubai already boasts the biggest shopping centre on the planet emphasises the fact that the city has no intention of settling for what it has got. While this is clearly the biggest and arguably the most exciting project taking place at the moment, it is by no means the only major development being worked on.Construction firms have now sparked back into life and a plethora of hotels, apartments and commercial plots that were put on hold during the economic downturn have been resurrected. One thing is for certain, Dubai will only get bigger and better while Mr Al Maktoum is still in charge.Let The First Group help you find properties for sale in Dubai
