Dubai Municipality conducts thousands of building tests

The Dubai Municipality (DM) has been working hard to ensure that new building developments in the city are of the highest standard. With so many groundbreaking projects being announced in recent years, construction companies have been putting themselves to the test and some of the skyscrapers and residential plots that have sprung up are unbelievable.DM director of buildings development Khalid Mohammed Saleh confirmed that more than 1,900 technical engineers were scrutinised in the last 12 months, with an average of 162 tests being conducted each month, AMEinfo reports. He also revealed that 1,398 people were approved following their assessment, while the failed candidates can resubmit their applications once they have completed the necessary studies required to pass the test.Mr Saleh insisted the appraisal system plays a vital role in ensuring standards do not drop across the building sector."The department has been continuously studying and reviewing the registration and qualification requirements in sync with requisitions and status of construction market in the region in general and in line with the real estate activities of Dubai in particular," he was quoted as saying. This is obviously great news for investors who are moving to Dubai to add new properties to their portfolios.Recent studies have shown that foreigners who sold their assets in the emirate when the global economy took a turn for the worse are now flooding back to the UAE in their droves.Anybody who has visited Dubai in the past year will have noticed the cranes are moving once again, which shows the building industry is back on its feet.Construction contractors reported bumper profits in 2012 and it is good to know that only the most professional organisations are able to work in the city. The government has also introduced legislation that offers assurances to investors if their building developer defaults on a project in any way.People can reclaim substantial amounts of compensation if a company is deemed to have broken the terms of its contract. The First Group can help you find properties for sale in Dubai
