Intersec 2013 to get underway in Dubai

Security and safety professionals from all over the world will descend on Dubai for a major event this week.Intersec 2013 gets underway on January 15th and will run for three days.With more than 1,000 exhibitors, organisers of the show say it is the best place to get up to date on all the latest technological innovations seen across the security sector.The British Security Industry Association's (BSIA's) Export Council is one of many organisations to have a presence at the event, with 12 members expected to display their newest products from the UK Security Pavilion.This will be the 15th time the exhibition has been held and it seems to get bigger and better every year.Indeed, 83 per cent of BSIA members who took part in Intersec 2012 said there had been a noticeable increase in the number of people visiting their stands when compared with previous years.It is seen as a great place for security industry specialists from all over the world to forge links with other companies."We are confident of a positive outcome from Intersec 2013," commented chairman of the BSIA's Export Council John Davies."The innovations that members plan to display on their stands cover everything from the very latest integrated systems to access control, CCTV and intruder alarm technology, and switch mode power supplies."Leaders at the BSIA said that most of its members see the annual Intersec event as one of the most important gatherings of the year and 70 per cent feel the Middle East is now their most important market.Of course, this is just one of many exhibitions and conferences scheduled to take place in Dubai in 2013.The emirate has built up a huge reputation as a great place to stage such high-profile occasions and venues like the Dubai World Trade Centre always have something going on.This obviously benefits local hoteliers and property owners who know there will be a steady stream of visitors to the emirate all through the year.
