Record breaking Dubai Metro turns three

The Dubai Metro celebrated its third birthday earlier this month with another round of record-breaking statistics. Since launching on 9th September 2009, the world’s longest driverless train network has been used by 184 million people, averaging 6 million commuters per month in the second half of this year.

The Dubai Metro consists of the 52km Red Line totaling 29 stations, and the 23km Green Line comprising of 18 stations. The network has revolutionized travel in the city, even more so for those who live or stay close to the Metro’s stations. The First Group is proud to have a number of properties in its portfolio that are located in prime Dubai Metro areas – a lucrative factor for investment. Grand Central and First Central Hotel Apartments in Tecom are just a short stroll from a station, while Metro Central boasts a station right on its doorstep. The latest development, TFG Marina Hotel, is also situated close to the Dubai Marina’s Metro station, making access to the rest of the city highly affordable, fast and convenient.
