Dubai's ability to attract some of the world's most celebrated musical acts continues to reflect the emirate's status as a cultural hotspot. A string of top-class performers have put on memorable shows throughout the destination in recent years and some of the most famous names in the industry are scheduled to hold concerts in Dubai before the end of 2012. Il Divo - recently named Artist of the Decade at the Classic BRIT awards - are just one of the accomplished entertainers set to wow audiences in the emirate. The Il Divo & Orchestra Live in Concert show will take place at the Sheikh Rashid Hall in the Dubai World Trade Centre on October 5th and the demand for tickets is expected to be sky-high. Their first four albums achieved a total of 50 number one positions in music charts around the world and the singers have managed to sell more than 25 million albums to date. Many experts feel the group have brought classical music back to the public's attention - making them one of the most important acts of their generation. The fact that Dubai is capable of attracting such high-profile names highlights its status as one of the most desirable locations in the Middle East. With so many tourists visiting this part of the world each year, it is hardly surprising that international artists are falling over themselves to be a part of the region's live music scene. Rap icon 50 Cent is another famous performer who is scheduled to take to the stage in Dubai next month. The hip hop superstar is due to appear at the Atelier Live Music Festival at the Meydan Racecourse on October 19th and is arguably the biggest name to perform at the event since it was first launched in April 2012. He will follow in the footsteps of Leona Lewis, Jay Sean and Taio Cruz - who all performed in front of 16,000 fans at the inaugural festival.
