Dusit Thani Dubai begins major refurbishment

In a city as fast-moving as Dubai, it is essential for developers and companies to stay ahead of the game by investing in new property or revamping older structures. This is why the Dusit Thani Dubai has announced it has begun a major refurbishment operation, which will see its 174 guest rooms transformed. The project on the UAE property is expected to be completed by the end of September and will serve to help the Dusit International's Middle East flagship institution keep up with new competition.Indeed, this facelift marks the first time the 11-year-old structure has undergone an extensive revamp, with there only previously being small, light refurbishments carried out on the building. The project will involve a reappointment of the guest rooms, having them redecorated with modern accents that imbue a sense of brightness, creating a relaxed and welcoming ambience. Some of the new designs will draw on the Dusit's Thai heritage through intricate art and unique features. In addition to the decoration and colour scheme, the renovations will include the addition of modern technology, allowing for convenient internet connectivity for those who partake in accessing the web through the hotel's complementary WiFi service.Phase two of the project will concentrate on the refurbishment of the Dusit Thani Dubai's 147 one and two-bedroom residences, with this stage of the scheme set to begin in summer 2013.General manager of the hotel James Wilson believes this is an exciting time for the hotel on account of it celebrating more than a decade of being one of Dubai's most recognisable institutions."The hotel is now in a position in which an extensive refurbishment will firmly place us in a more competitive position," he noted. As a Thai brand, Mr Wilson explained that it is important remain true to the company's roots, in addition to embracing the location and incorporating international design into the hotel. He revealed the hotelier is expanding and so the design decision-makers have chosen will put the Dubai property's rooms more in line with global standards, while ensuring Thai accents are in every room to distinguish the Dusit brand.
