This year’s Arabian Travel Market has been bigger and better than ever, with visitor numbers up between 7 and 10%. The four day travel trade event attracted major international and regional attention, with 54 national pavilions and 87 countries represented overall. The number of exhibitors also increased by 7% to more than 2,400. The figures are proof that trade fairs and conventions continue to spell big business for Dubai, and in particular, the city’s hotel industry, which benefits greatly from the influx of trade visitors. Last year, events at the Dubai World trade Centre attracted a record 17% rise in visitor numbers to the city to reach 1.65 million people.
