Kilimanjaro and Eldoret added to Kenya Airways' route list
Kenya Airways is continuing to expand its route numbers by announcing that it will be flying to Kilimanjaro in Northern Tanzania and Eldoret to Kenya's Rift Valley later this year. The firm will be sending its planes to Kilimanjaro International Airport from July 2nd and then to Eldoret from July 4th as it looks to improve its presence in the area. Furthermore, AllAfrica.com reports that Kilimanjaro International is located close to the rich tourism market of Tanzania's tourism market, making it a potentially fruitful market to target. Kenya Airways Group managing director Titus Naikuni told the news provider that there are many positives that surround these locations. "In line with our plans to exploit the untapped economic potential of the African continent, we have identified Kilimanjaro as a strategic destination in the region owing to the vibrant tourism circuit in the hinterland including the world famous Serengeti," he explained. Meanwhile, economy zones are being set up in Kenya to help boost local businesses in the coming years.
