The relocation of animals from Dubai Zoo to a new facility should be completed by the end of 2013 after work on the new complex got underway.A new 400-hectare Dubai Safari will be developed in the Al Warqa area of Aweer Road and could provide an additional attraction for those looking at Dubai property for sale.The Dubai Municipality announced plans to build the project over the next two years - and the new safari will not only house current animals from Dubai Zoo but also welcome a whole host of new ones.It will feature African, Asian and Arabian villages, wherein animals native to those regions can be found.Hussain Lootah, director general of the municipality, noted the development has been a big talking point of late, adding the facility should be ready for opening by the end of 2014.Mr Lootah stated: "The zoo is one of the issues and has been the big talk for many years."He added: "We have already started ground levelling work in the area and the project will be completed in about a year and a half."The complex is likely to attract visitors from all around the world - including those considering making a Dubai property investment - as it caters for species from across the globe.While the animals will be housed in the designated villages dependant upon where they originate, these different areas will boast architecture and landscape relevant to these regions.Mr Lootah added: "We will use different types of transport, which will run using solar energy, to take visitors from one place to the other in the area."And while many of the creatures will be brought over from Dubai Zoo, there will also be different species transported from a number of other sites.Those with an interest in wildlife may therefore find the Dubai Safari offers them the opportunity to get up close and personal with their favourite animals, safe in the knowledge that the beasts are being well-looked after and cared for using the latest facilities.
