Dubai has climbed the ranks to become the world’s 13th most important cities for the ulta-wealthy to invest in. According to The Wealth Report 2012, published by Knight Frank and Citi Private Bank, the emirate also ranks eighth overall in terms of its growing significance to high net worth individuals. The listing looked at over 4000 of the world’s super rich in 120 countries, each with fortunes worth on average over $100m. It asked them to rank each global destination in terms of its performance in areas such as property and personal wealth.
Dubai also clocked in at number 10 on the super rich’s world rankings when it comes to quality of life, seventh on the scale for economic activity and 11th overall in terms of knowledge and influence. The UAE as a whole emerged as the world’s fourth most popular destination amongst high net worth individuals looking to buy a second home in Africa and the Middle East.
