Indian investors find Dubai increasingly appealing

More and more investors from India are finding Dubai's real estate market increasingly appealing. With a host of new projects in the pipeline, the emirate is generating an incredible amount of interest from the Asian country.Speaking to the National, Om Ahuja - the chief executive of residential services at Jones Lang LaSalle India - said people are well aware of the huge potential in Dubai, as the media has been documenting the emirate's recovery of late.He added that investments from India "can certainly rise" in the near future."Considering the current price points and options available, Dubai real estate is very attractive when compared to options in Indian metros at current price levels," Mr Ahuja was quoted as saying.India's interest in the UAE's property market is certainly not a new phenomenon.Statistics published by the Dubai Land Department indicate that Indian investors snapped up 153 buildings in the first half of the year in deals that ran into billions of AED.No other country in the world could match this buying activity, which highlights the important role that India continues to play in Dubai's real estate industry. One investor - Faisal Husain, the founder and chief executive of an IT company - believes Dubai is an ideal place for him to live as it is close to his homeland and it is extremely well connected to other important corporate hubs around the world. The UAE has emerged as a major international business centre and airlines like Emirates are adding more and more services to ensure as many people as possible can gain access to the UAE.A study conducted by Friends Provident last week showed that it is not just Indian citizens who are finding the UAE an attractive place to invest.General manager for the company's Middle East and Africa division Matthew Waterfield said there are clear signs that investors are becoming increasingly optimistic about the future prospects of Dubai's property sector.Click here for your free property investment guide
