Germany's Next Top Model comes to Dubai
Parts of the latest series of Germany's Next Top Model are being filmed in Dubai, further boosting the city's status as an emerging global fashion hub.Supermodel Heidi Klum is hosting the show and she has been impressed by what she has seen of the emirate so far.The contestants were filmed in some of Dubai's most exclusive places, including the Palm and the Atlantis Hotel, as well as the famous Meydan Racecourse, Emirates 24/7 reports.Dubai has a number of world-class fashion designers and the ladies taking part in the German contest will model garments created by the ultra-talented Furnes Oneo.Although Klum has been busy working, she did manage to take some time out to see Dubai's most famous sights.Indeed, she took to Twitter to tell her 1.2 million followers about the "beautiful" views she had encountered.She also posted a picture of the majestic Burj Khalifa - the largest skyscraper on the planet."If you can see past my loud outfit....that is the world's tallest building," she tweeted.Dubai is renowned for its plethora of upmarket boutiques, which makes it a favoured holiday hotspot among the rich and famous.The most prestigious luxury brands in the world have been falling over themselves to open new stores in the emirate in recent years.With so many wealthy tourists visiting the city, they know the demand for their high-end products is very high.Many of the retail outlets can be found in the city's huge shopping centres, of which there are plenty to choose from.The Mall of the Emirates is full of designer goods and is currently the largest complex of its kind in the world.However, property developers in Dubai have a habit of taking things to the next level and an even bigger shopping centre - the Mall of the World - is set to be built.With so many wealthy celebrities being lured in by the emirate's fashion and retail options, there has hardly been a better time for investors to secure new assets in the city.
