Police issues advice to Dubai residents

Property investors in the Middle East could be among those to benefit from advice recently issued to Dubai residents. The emirate's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has warned residents not to leave their doors unlocked.According to the CID it is exactly this kind of negligence that makes residents "easy prey" for thieves.Brigadier Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, director of CID, said that leaving front doors unlocked is an open invitation for criminals to steal expensive items."Many people leave their doors unlocked or even open, and leave valuables on tables or inside unlocked cupboards, only to discover in the morning that they have been robbed," he commented."Such criminals are especially active in areas inhabited mainly by bachelors, where thieves sneak into their apartments at night and rob them while the inhabitants are sleeping."Landlords operating in Dubai could pass this information warning on to their tenants to ensure the contents of their properties are safeguarded.
