List reveals influential Arabs

Dubai's ruler has been named as one of the most influential Arabs on Twitter by a recent report.Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid ranked 30th on the list after the prime minister and vice-president joined the social media service in June 2009.At the time the list was published, Sheikh bin Rashid had 638,921 followers and he recently posted photos of himself donating blood.MBC sports presenter and newspaper columnist Mustafa Agha placed 25th on the list and other high-profile Arab tweeters included Abu Dhabi Sports TV commentator Faris Awad in 28th and sports broadcaster Khaled Al Shenaif in 49th.Khaled El Ahmad, a social media instructor from Jordan, compiled the list, which was published in Wamda.With Arabian professionals gaining higher profiles, a growing number of business investors could be tempted to look into opportunities in the Middle East.Indeed, Dubai and Abu Dhabi have seen their credentials as global sporting, business, entertainment and fashion hubs boosted by a number of events in recent months.
