'Housing revolution' to take place in Abuja

A "housing revolution" is to take place in Abuja over the next year as the government looks to build more properties for non-government officials and artisans.In news that could interest Abuja property investors, the Housing and Land Development minister Ama Pepple is quoted by The National as saying that officials are looking into ways to reduce the cost of properties in the city.She told a meeting of the National Council that new house prices will range from N1.5 million for a one-bedroom flat, N2.5 million for a two-bedroom flat and N3 million for a three-bedroom flat."At present, we are partnering with state government to give us land for this project. For every housing estate built, there will be water, and light, with this in place housing revolution has started," Ms Pepple added.Meanwhile, Abuja is seeking new private sector investment for its renewables sector to help it grow in the coming years.
