Dublin to Abu Dhabi passenger numbers on the rise

The number of people flocking to Abu Dhabi from Dublin is on the rise, according to new figures.Property investors with portfolios in the emirate could soon see a rising demand for their properties as last year saw an additional 15 per cent of passengers make the flight from Ireland.This, the Irish Times reported, made the route the tenth busiest in Etihad Airways' global network.Etihad's latest data shows that 214,733 passengers were carried between Dublin and Abu Dhabi in 2011, this is a significant rise on the 187,188 passengers recorded for the previous year.Beatrice Cosgrove, Etihad's general manager for northern Europe, told the news provider that the airline is happy with the passenger figures for Dublin, given the turmoil surrounding the Middle East due to the Arab Spring uprisings."We're expecting another good year in 2012," she commented.The news come as a number of international airlines have announced the decision to increase the number of flights into Abu Dhabi, Dubai and other northern emirates.
