Dubai has built a strong reputation as one of the most luxurious holiday destinations in the world.The emirate is a playground for the rich and famous, with a multitude of top-quality restaurants, designer boutiques, swanky bars and hip clubs lining the streets.Of course, Dubai is also famous for its stunning hotels and it has an impressive array of world-class resorts for visitors to choose from.A plethora of new five-star hotels are currently undergoing construction and they will enhance the city's status as a glamorous destination even further.The Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah is set to open in 2014, Breaking Travel News reports, while the Palazzo Versace Dubai should also be finished in two years' time.In addition to this, W Hotels - the world's fastest growing boutique hotel brand - is planning to open two new properties in Dubai in the near future.Earlier this month, the Khaleej Times reported how the first section of the largest hotel in the world would open in the emirate in November.The JW Marriott Hotel Marques has added an extra dimension to the city's already impressive skyline and the second tower should be completed in less than two and a half years, according to general manager of the hotel Rupprecht Queitsch.Meanwhile, director of UK & Ireland for Dubai Tourism Ian Scott told Breaking Travel News that the emirate has become more affordable for travellers from various parts of the world.That said, he feels the city will still be renowned for being an upmarket holiday hotspot."Dubai has built a reputation as a luxury destination and due to demand a number of new five-star hotels are set to open over the next four years," he remarked."It's great to see such a wide variety of accommodation available in the emirate - from an extensive range of self catering options to family resorts and boutique hotels - there really is something for everyone."
