Medical care in Abu Dhabi could improve over the coming years thanks to a new $2 billion hospital development.Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, which is being built on Sowwah Island, is set to open its doors to patients in the first quarter of next year.The new hospital, which has been modelled on its US namesake, will boast 364 beds - a number that could increase to 490 later down the line.Patients at the new facility will benefit from five specialist areas including digestive disease, eye, heart and vascular disorders, neurological treatment, and respiratory and critical care.Suhail Mahmood Al Ansari, the executive director at Mubadala Healthcare, commented: "Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi will be an outstanding medical facility that brings the very highest international standards of care to patients in Abu Dhabi and the wider region.
