Huge shopper boost for Dubai hotels

Dubai Hotels have been busy preparing for the 17th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival, with industry experts predicting occupancy levels will soar once again. Last year, the hugely popular retail extravaganza saw many hotels in the emirate hit 100% occupancy during the festival. Around 3.5 million tourists flock to Dubai to enjoy major DSF discounts, events and entertainment, and 2012 is shaping up to be no exception. DSF kicked off on 5th January and will run for 32 days. DSF 2011 generated over Dh15 billion or $4.08 billion in revenue for the city and a study by You.Gov predicts this year could be even bigger.

The festival is also expected to attract greater numbers of GCC visitors this year because the dates coincide with school holidays in the region. Just one of the hotels that has been gearing up in anticipation for DSF 2012 is The First Group’s First Central Hotel Apartments. Located right by the Dubai Metro’s Tecom station, it is ideally placed just a few minutes away from the Mall of the Emirates and a short ride from the Dubai Mall. Happy shopping!
