Wages in the United Arab Emirates have increased by five per cent in the last 12 months, according to new figures that could encourage more people to live in Dubai and surrounding emirates.Global management consultancy firm Hay Group also revealed in its report that recruitment has also increased in this time as business flourishes in the area.Furthermore, the group is predicting pay to increase by 5.2 per cent over the next 12 months in what it believes is further evidence of a stabilising pay market in the area, Emirates 24-7 reports.Hay Group's Vijay Gandhi, director of reward information services, told the news provider that in particular, sales and marketing is seeing growth."This new wave of recruitment can be attributed to an improvement in business performance on last year and because new recruits can be sourced at below the average market rate," he explained."A new employee in the Emirates can expect to be paid six per cent under the market average. We are not witnessing layoffs anymore apart from in a few organisations in real estate."Meanwhile, 1,000 exhibitors are expected at this year's Dubai Airshow taking place in November.
