RAK aims to attract 50,000 German visitors

It is expected that as many as 50,000 German tourists could visit Ras Al Khaimah between now and June thanks to new weekly charter flights.A joint venture between The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Investment and Development Authority (RAK TIDA) and German tour operator, Reise Service Deutschland, has led to five weekly charter flights from different cities in Germany and Austria, in the hope that it can boost tourism to the emirate. Also set to benefit from the agreement are hotel operators and owners of property in Ras Al Khaimah. Some hotels have already agreed to accommodate the new visitors by contracting rooms to the venture.German tourists will be able to fly from Hamburg, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Berlin and Munich every week, while a route has also been set up from Vienna in Austria."With its temperate climate, rugged terrain and superb beach facilities, Ras Al Khaimah offers an ideal getaway for visitors from Europe seeking sun, leisure, adventure and quality experiences with a great value of money," commented Victor Louis, chief operating officer for RAK TIDA.It is hoped that the venture will help RAK achieve its goal to welcome 1.2 million visitors by 2013.
