Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai could have greater transport access in the coming years when construction work is completed. That is according to Adnan Al Hammadi, head of rail networks at the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), who said that new Blue and Purple lines will be considered for the airport when it opens. His comments represent good news for potential Dubai property investors, who will see transport links improve further with an express light-rail system between Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport thought to be among future plans.Mr Al Hammadi said that though their introduction will not be imminent, they could be required in the future."The Blue and Purple lines are part of the future infrastructure, and as Al Maktoum Airport nears completion, implementing further Metro lines may be a possibility," he explained."Studies are always being conducted to see what the demand is. There is no need for these lines over the next five or six years."It comes after the Green Line on the Dubai Metro was opened last week.
