Healthcare set to improve as Middle Eastern firm announces new clinics

Healthcare could be about to improve in the Middle East after Gulf Healthcare International announced that it plans to invest millions of dollars in new clinics.The Dubai medical services provider will fund the opening of six clinics, while also acquiring another 11 to help lower-income patients, Middle Eastern investors could be encouraged to hear.Ras Al Khaimah will be among the emirates with new clinics, with the third site set to be opened there in January next year, reports Arabian Business.Mark Adams, chief executive of the company, told the news provider that it is an area that he believes "has some challenges"."Around 50 to 60 per cent of your patients don't have access to health insurance," he explained."So you have got to balance the right level of clinical ability with a high-volume, low-margin business model."Meanwhile, new education programmes are to be launched in the new academic year at Abu Dhabi University, including in science, computing and engineering.
