First phase of construction project at Abu Dhabi International Airport completed

The 6,000-square-metre first phase of a new perishable cargo terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport has been completed, officials have confirmed.Once the construction project has been finished, the terminal will feature dedicated storage for food, as well as a separate room for palletised goods, a customs area and a room dedicated to food inspection.Officials revealed that the second phase of the project is set to be complete by the end of the year."This state-of-the-art facility will significantly improve the handling capabilities of Abu Dhabi Cargo Company, as it allows our cargo customers the freedom to safely transport a wider variety of cargo including important items such as medical and biological samples," a company spokesman explained."Abu Dhabi Airports Company [will] also work closely with the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, to guarantee that all of the perishable goods transported through ADCC align with safety and security regulations."
