Dubai rents stabilise

Property investors looking for buy-to-let opportunities in the Middle East could be among those encouraged by recent rental statistics.Worries over the stability of the rental market in Dubai have been eased after recent figures showed a renewed stability.Indeed, a study by Global Investment House showed that villa rents in the emirate saw no significant declines in the second quarter of the year and fell just one per cent in the final three months of 2010.Meanwhile, apartment rents in the region also showed their resilience, falling just two per cent in the three months to June 31st.It comes as investors recently learned of the increasing appeal Dubai has to US retailers.Consumer confidence in the emirate is thriving, with a significant number of leading US retailers looking to set up shop in the region.Bloomberg recently reported that Limited Brands, which operates Victoria's Secret and American Eagle Outfitters, has opened stores in Dubai malls this year.
