Budget air fares to boost UAE tourism

Property investors with but-to-let units in Dubai could be among those encouraged by recent actions taken by airlines in the UAE.In a bid to boost tourist numbers, some of the region's budget carriers have announced further price drops, Emirates 24-7 reported.According to the news provider, major airlines like RAK Airways, flydubai and Air Arabia have introduced discounted fares and special offers, which customers can use over the coming months.Indeed, the deals currently listed in RAK Airlines' website are described by the carrier as its biggest promotional offer ever."Flydubai, another budget airline is also on sale. The company is offering a 20 per cent discount on its rates if the travel dates fall between October 10th and December 14th 2011. The fares start at Dh196 for a one-way journey, inclusive of taxes," the publication explained.Such deals could well see a higher number of tourists enter Dubai this winter, which in turn would drive up demand for short-term accommodation.
