UAE flights on the rise

The population of the UAE as a tourist destination could be on the rise, recent flight statistics have suggested.According to figures published by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, UAE flights increased by 7.3 per cent last month, Arabian Business reported. The increase could encourage a number of property investors to look into Dubai and other northern emirates as potential location to invest in the buy-to-let sector.Data from the study showed that in July there were 58,620 air traffic movements in the UAE, at an average of 1,891 per day.Dubai in particular proved a popular destination, with the emirate's Dubai International Airport taking top spot with 26,109 flights. The airport is also set to boost its capacity from 60 million travellers to 75 million by the end of next year.It comes as both the UAE leading carriers, Etihad and Fly Emirates are enjoying higher profiles in the UK after securing sponsorship deals with Premier League football teams Manchester City and Arsenal respectively.
