UAE banks and public sector to be given days off for Eid

Banks in the United Arab Emirates will remain closed for three days to mark the beginning of Eid Al Fitr, people considering Dubai property investment may be interested to learn.It has been announced that the first and second days of the festival will be paid holidays for private sector employees, while those working in the public sector will have seven days of leave.Federal ministries and departments will be off from Sunday August 28th to September 4th, according to Humaid Obaid Al Qutami, minister of education and chairman of the Federal Human Resources Authority and quoted by Emirates 24-7.Mr Al Qutami made the announcement while also congratulating royalty, the people of the UAE and those of the Arab and Muslim world on the "happy occasion", the news provider added.Meanwhile, Dubai has been named as the Middle East City of the Future 2010/11 by fDi Magazine, making it a preferred foreign direct investment destination.
