Political unrest helps Dubai to soaring visitor numbers in June

Political unrest in some parts of the Middle East helped Dubai's hotels to a rise in visitor numbers as more people were headed there to stay safe.Ernst and Young found that Dubai topped the revenue per available room (RevPAR) table in the Middle East in June as more people stayed in Dubai properties, reports Gulf News.Furthermore, hotel occupancy rates in Dubai soared by six per cent between June 2010 and June this year, hitting 75.9 per cent, people looking at Dubai property investment maybe interested to hear.Michel Noblet, president and chief executive officer of HMH Hospitality Management Holdings, told the news provider that business was re-routed to Dubai because of problems elsewhere."We have also seen a lot of groups coming in from places like Korea and China," he said."There has been some kind of a slowdown from Europe but the regional traffic has in a way made up for this drop in business."It comes after Dubai Maritime City saw a doubling of activity in the first half of this year.
