Dubai named 'Middle East City of the Future 2010/11'

Once again, Dubai has been named the 'Middle East City of the Future 2010/11' by fDi Magazine, thereby emphasising the emirate's status as a preferred foreign direct investment destination.The emirate ranked well across all categories, emerging top of the list in terms of economic potential, infrastructure and business friendliness, middleeastevents.com has reported.Discussing the honour, Sami Al Qamzi, director general of the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED), commented: "The ranking of a Dubai as the 'Middle East City of the Future' is a strong testament to the economic fundamentals of the city and the growth potential that Dubai offers to investors from around the world."He added that Dubai has been "focused on all-round development and creating a conducive environment for growth".Meanwhile, Fahad Al Gergawi, chief executive officer of Dubai FDI, the foreign investment promotion arm of DED, observed that the sustained top ranking for Dubai stresses the strong growth potential that the city offers for foreign investors.
