Double-digit occupancy rate increase for Dubai hotels in July

Hotels in Dubai have witnessed double-digit occupancy growth rates in the last month, showing the emirate to be a leading tourist destination.Research published by STR Global revealed that Dubai saw a 23 per cent rise in revenue per available room rates in July compared to the same month last year.Furthermore, Arabian Business reports that three markets in the Middle East have also seen occupancy rate increases, including Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi.The news provider added that while the Middle East and Africa region saw a one per cent decrease in the average daily rate, Dubai fared better with a 4.5 per cent rise to $162.18.Earlier this month it was revealed that the Palm Jumeirah complex is to get more villas by next year, with more than 7,000 units to be completed by the end of next year.Additionally, construction of Palm Mall in Palm Jumeirah will begin by the end of 2012.
