Students flocking to Dubai to soak up culture

There has been surge in the number of young students heading to Dubai this year in search of learning more about the Arabic language and culture.Khaleej Times reported that more than 150 students have enrolled in English language classes across the emirate this summer.Such news could interest property investors in Dubai as these young tourists could be looking to stay in the city for a long period of time before seeking careers in international relations and diplomacy in the Middle East.Leslie Malouf, a Lebanese American student, told the news provider: "Two of my friends (of Arab ancestry) came with me on this trip. We decided on Dubai because it's largely bilingual which is a safety net for us, knowing that even if our spoken Arabic is weak, people can understand us."She explained that living in the country of the language you are learning improves fluency and is "the best way to practice the language".This week Dubai has been named as one of the world's leading business destinations by CB Richard Ellis.
