Global trade from Dubai is on the rise, research says

People looking to invest in Dubai may be interested to hear that global trade from the emirate rose in the early part of this year as business picks up once again.Dubai Customs revealed that non-petroleum direct international trade increased by 30 per cent in the first four months of the year compared to the same time in 2010.The organisation said that while trade was AED180 billion between January and April last year, this has increased by AED65 billion to AED235 billion, reports Arabian Business.Ahmed Butti Ahmed, executive chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zones and director general of Dubai Customs, told the news provider that the results reflect a "quick recovery of business activities movement in Dubai"."These achieved growth turnover indications predict availability of sustainable economic growth in Dubai," he added.Meanwhile, research published by Mercer earlier this week revealed that the emirate is becoming more affordable to live in.
