Yas Island public beach bids under review

Abu Dhabi's biggest developer, Aldar Properties, is reviewing bids for the proposed Yas Island public beach and will soon be awarding a construction contract, it has said.Publishing a progress report for May, seen by Emirates 24/7, the company briefed the public on a number of projects in the pipeline within the emirate, including phase one of Motor World, which will be fully operational by October 1st.This will include 100 pre-owned car showrooms, two cafes and an Adnoc Vehicle Inspection and Registration Centre, the news provider reported, with two more phases to come after the site opens.However, Yas Island water park, situated near the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi theme park, will delay its opening until the first quarter of 2013.Opening of the 40-ride attraction was planned for the third quarter of 2012 but receiving permits had delayed the process.The park will cover 21,000 square metres and is the latest offering to boost tourism to the UAE.
