IHG appoints Ignace Bauwens as new VP for operations in the Gulf

Ignace Bauwens has been appointed as the new vice-president for operations in the Gulf for the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) as the company looks to maximise hotel profits in the UAE and the rest of the Middle East.Mr Bauwens will replace Pascal Gauvin, who in turn moves to vice-president of operations for the Near East and Africa, and will be in charge of managing the operations of 23 different hotels.He will be overseeing four IHG brands including Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Staybridge Suites and InterContinental, reports ameinfo.IHG has also appointed Taras Ettl as vice-president of development in the MEA region, while also welcoming James Britchford and Francois Kassab as it looks to grow further in the region.John Bamsey, IHG's chief operating officer for the MEA, told the news provider of his delight at the appointments."I am pleased to welcome Ignace and Taras to the senior management team. Both are highly experienced individuals and bring a wealth of knowledge to IHG," he said.IHG operates more than 652,000 rooms across 100 countries in the world, including seven different brands.
