Etihad announces new flights to Morocco

UAE national airline, Etihad Airways, has announced the launch of a new flight to Morocco.The news coincides with the carrier's fifth anniversary of non-stop flights between Abu Dhabi and Morocco's commercial capital Casablanca.Under the terms of the new move, Etihad will now operate five weekly flights from the emirate to Morocco.In the last five years the airline has carried more than 300,000 travellers and 6.5 million tons of cargo between the two destinations.James Hogan, chief executive officer of Etihad, said: "Our Casablanca operation has exceeded our expectations over the past five years and we are pleased to be able to build on this success with an additional service."We remain committed to building sustainable ties in the North African region, and deepening the strong relationship between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates."It comes after low cost carrier flydubai announced the introduction of thrice weekly flights from Dubai to Hyderabad in India.
