Dubai schools are 'continuously improving'

Following a recent inspection almost half of Dubai's public schools have now been classed as either Good or Outstanding, it has been revealed.The news represents a ten per cent improvement since the first round of inspections in 2008-09.Conducted by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), inspectors ranked six out of the 79 public schools in Dubai were ranked as outstanding by the authority, while just one school was rated unsatisfactory.Thirty-three schools were ranked as good and 39 as acceptable.Officials noted that the inspections show continuous improvement in the education sector over the years with more number of students now attending better schools.Indeed, inspector found that 22 per cent of public school students are getting a better standard of education now than they were last year.Jameela Al Muhairi, chief of the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau at KHDA, was delighted by the news."We now have six Outstanding public schools; in our first year there were none," she said.
