Core business in Dubai is in 'very good shape'

Dubai's services sector is continuing to grow after having a strong first half to the year.That is according to Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of Dubai's Supreme Fiscal Committee, who is quoted by emirates 24-7 as saying that the emirate's trade, tourism, air transport and services have all had a strong start to the year.He added that "the core business of Dubai is in very good shape".Crucially for those looking for commercial property in Dubai, the property-focused economy grew by 2.4 per cent.Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, a member of the Supreme Fiscal Committee and chairman of Dubai International Financial Centre, told the news provider that the "economic indicators are good"."The sectors of trade, tourism, air transport and services, all have seen growth in 2009, 2010 and the first half of this year," he explained.The Dubai Municipality announced on Monday that it will build a new port in Deira Creek in the near future.
