Govt employees set for salary increases in Dubai

Government employees in the UAE are set for a salary boost based on their recent "excellent performance", it has been reported.The Dubai Chronicle notes that UAE nationals will receive a seven per cent pay boost, while expatriate employees will pick up a five per cent increase.His highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-president and prime minister of the UAE, ordered the increase on Wednesday on the back of employee performance.Amal Bin Adi, director general of the government's human resource department, said that the increase would be given on basic salary."The increment will be given to employees of 42 departments and institutions of the Dubai government under the provisions of the human resource law of the Government of Dubai," she explained.Only members of staff that have completed six months in their position and those who are on duty and not resigned from work will qualify for the increase.
