DHL launches air cargo service to Dubai
Leading delivery organisation DHL has announced the launch of a new air cargo service to Dubai World Central (DWC).The service forms part of DHL's joint venture with the Al Tayer Group (ATG) and saw its first flight land at Al Maktoum International on May 1st, AME Info reported.Customers of Danzas AEI Emirates, the company owned by DHL and ATG, will benefit from a twice-weekly air cargo service.According to DHL, the service will offer faster turn-around times and more streamlined operations.Enver Moretti, chief executive officer of DHL Global Forwarding Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey, told the news provider: "Boasting impressive import and export growth amounting to Dh70.2bn, the UAE plays an integral part of the global logistics network. DHL is committed to supporting its development as a strategically important gateway to key markets such Asia, Europe, Africa, and intra-Middle East."The DWC project, and its direct connectivity to Jebel Ali Free Zone and Port, underlines Dubai's position as a key multi-modal logistics hub for the future."
