Etihad Airways continues global expansion

Etihad Airways has announced two new international ventures as it continues to expand across the world.It will launch flights to and from New Zealand and Kazakhstan after signing an agreement with national companies Air New Zealand and Air Astana.James Hogan, chief executive of the Abu-Dhabi based airline, said in a statement on company newsletter Etihadinflight that the deal with Air New Zealand will lead to flights between the UAE and major cities in New Zealand.Emirates 24/7 reported that Mr Hogan said that the deal adds to its alliance with Virgin Blue, which runs services in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.Meanwhile, the agreement with Air Astana will see 15 weekly services between Almaty and Astana in Kazakhstan and Abu Dhabi.The chief executive added that the airline will further boost its services to existing destinations by operating increased flight frequency to the UK.It will double its daily direct flights to Manchester from August 1st to two a day.Manchester Airport is the busiest destination for Etihad, the news provider stated.
