A new construction project in the United Arab Emirates has been inaugurated by Abdullah Mohair Al Kitbi.
The undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative launched the Al Mirfa Corniche development project of the West Region Municipality.
A number of key figures, including Hamoud Humaid Al Mansouri, director general of the Western Region Municipality, were also in attendance.
Ornamental trees and green spaces will play a key role in the beautification process, which is to be spread over an area of 11 hectares.
There is to be an irrigation network made with water piping that extends over 3.5 kilometres, while 6,000 square metres made of granite will be decorated with traditional Arabian designs to help people relax, Al Kitbi said.
Meanwhile, Zawya reported, a wooden entrance to the nearby beach, three fountains and lights will be installed to enhance the area.
Prayer rooms for men and women, bathrooms and 50 car parks on both sides of the corniche will also be developed.
