Etihad Rail's first route heads for 2013 completion
The first route of Etihad Rail will be completed by 2013, sending granulated sulphur from Shah and Habshan to Ruwais and exported abroad, the company has announced.

Unveiling its plans for a nationwide railway project, Etihad Rail has also undergone a new brand identity, incorporating the colours of the UAE flag, Emirates 24/7 reports.

Future developments will see tracks extend up to 1,200 km, connecting to Saudi Arabi and Oman. It will also connect with the larger GCC railway network to further boost the country's economy, promoting trade and linking cities and ports.

Speaking at a press conference, chairman of the board of directors of Etihad Rail Nasser Al Suwaidi, highlighted the importance of the project as a modern and safe transport hub.

He said, as cited by the news provider: "The UAE has a long and proud tradition as a trading economy and we at Etihad Rail are developing an extensive rail network that will expand this tradition and further grow the UAE as a logistics hub for businesses and industries in the region and beyond."ADNFCR-2019-ID-800475166-ADNFCR
